Imre Makovecz has always been fascinated by the symbiosis between landscapes, plants, and buildings, suggesting the presence of a greater force than human creativity. In his drawings, he created the architecture of the past and the future. He moved back and forth in time and landscapes, in a world of “what could have been.”

The Atlantis World, a new construction of the Hagymatikum spa center, is based on Imre Makovecz’s hidden plans in drawers, as he himself once dreamed it:

“From the sea, from the invisible points radiating from the earth, towers and boulders rise towards the sky. From stones, living forms of life, springing upwards. The sky wants to unite with the earth, to affirm that burning attraction which expresses the fact that what is above is also below, and what is below is also above.”
